Ella Handbags is the creation of designer Laura Rivera. Her exceptional quality leather designs are stylish, versatile (The Duo Collection designs are Reversible), and extremely light, excellent for travelling.These exclusive handbags are developed with intricate detail and outstanding craftsmanship.

Laura has always loved art, this creative influence was the driving force behind choosing industrial design as the perfect career to work on her craft. Her studies taught her how to combine different artistic techniques according to the industrial and artisanal processes to create new designs. Following her studies, she began to work independently in her field designing special gifts and desk accessories for exclusive clients and businesses.

In 2001 after working freelance, inspired by her artistic creativity and strong academic background, the idea to design handbags was born. She wanted to create handbags with an innovative design, feminine but not conventional that would give women a different style option without sacrificing comfort and exclusivity. Leather being the perfect material of choice because of its texture, smell, durability and ease of manipulation.

She sold her unique hand stitched handbags at craft shows and developed designs for exclusive chain stores in her country of origin. After moving to Canada, a new beginning took place for the designer and her business. She now works with industrial designer and husband, Francisco, sharing and developing new projects and designs for Ella Handbags.

With years of experience, Laura has developed distinctive techniques which are reflected in all of her collections. She continually innovates to bring one of a kind designs to the public, and in the latest Duo Collection she developed her unique reversible handbags.

Laura has sold her designs to boutiques and galleries in Toronto, GTA and Montreal, as well as in exclusive shows in Ontario. Next year she will start selling her designs in Vancouver. She is planning to expand her business for retail and wholesale throughout North America.
